Pure summer enjoyment!
High above the Eisacktal (Eisack Valley), the Hotel Feldthurnerhof blends
into the soft hills of the low mountains between the cathedral city of Brixen (9
km) and the town of Klausen (4 km) overtopped by the picturesque Säben castle
and monastery complex. With its medieval castle – once the magnificent summer
residence of the bishops of Brixen – the spa town of Feldthurns is a sunny oasis
at an elevation of 900 meters. The centre of Feldthurns with the castle is only
700 – 1000 m from the hotel.
In a picturesque setting on a sunny high plateau, the Feldthurnerhof is
located in the midst of the Sarntaler Alps hiking region. A network of hiking
trails for easy to challenging hikes, Nordic walking and mountain biking extends
to an elevation over 2,500 meters. Springtime is filled with the allure of
flowering meadows and white mountain peaks while numerous chestnut groves, apple
trees and grape vines transform the landscape into a splendid display of colour
in the fall.
Tip!
The “Keschtn” week starting at the end of October The “Keschtnweg” runs
from Feldthurns to Vahrn near Brixen. A culinary and cultural highlight in the
midst of splendid fall colours, past churches, chapels, castles and ruins. Be
sure to plan for an unhurried stopover at a wine or fruit
grower.
